Paddle More, Worry Less
In partnership with Norfolk Kayak Rentals, the ERT Foundation is ecstatic to offer a FREE kayak experience on the Elizabeth River in the months of May to September! Join the crew for a 90-minute group paddle that launches from the ERT kayak launch at Plum Point Park. Worry less about having access to the water – we got it covered for you!
Limited FREE kayaks are available, followed by discounted kayak rentals. With an advance reservation made online through our Programs & Events Calendar, your party can reserve two (2) separate single-seat kayaks OR one (1) tandem kayak on the individual reservation.
We kindly ask that our participants reserve only one (1) group paddle date for the season to allow this (did we mention free already?) FREE paddling opportunity to reach as many trail users as possible!
Previous kayak experience is encouraged. The paddle lasts for 1.5 hours, and the group travels about 3-4 miles across the working waterfront of downtown Norfolk. With the addition of our *NEW* trailside kayak launch at the ERT- Larchmont Library trailhead that was installed in August, we are excited to offer and utilize a new location to paddle the waterfront. On August 8, we had 11 people join us on a paddle that included a little exploration of The Hague in front of the Chrysler Museum of Art!
