Ride Out with Councilman Clanton
Despite the stifling heat the community turned up for some bike riding time with Superward 7 Councilman Carlos Clanton. Clanton has long been a friend of the ERT and he can regularly be found showing up to Trail events fresh off a bike ride. On this “Ride Out” the group met at the Lambert’s Point Open Space and he shared his “why” behind the ride. “As a councilmember, I just want to do things with the community, no politics, just literally come out, enjoy the beautiful space we have outside and meet your neighbors.” The riders from all over Norfolk rode out from the hills of the Lambert’s Point Open Space and took the ERT to Town Point Park enjoying the breeze from the river along the way. For many riders, it was a chance to view some of the ERT Foundation’s newest amenities and enhancements for the first time.
On the ride back Clanton pointed out the ERT HQ and told the group that the HQ is in the perfect spot right at the center of the trail where he sees trail users at all times of the day intersecting.
