This month the ERT staff teamed up with the d’Art Center to collaborate on an exhibit that brings together birds, water, and trail photography. The “Flowing and Flying” exhibit at the d’Art Center is in the main gallery and LensERT is in the Vault. A special curated selection of local trail photography. Visitors have until September 6 to see this dual art exhibit.

On August 14 the ERT staff attended the opening reception where a silent auction was held to support the Foundation and the d’Art Center. Executive Director, Kindra Greene worked with staff and residents at Harbor’s Edge to highlight the true collaborative spirit of our community with an artistic partnership. Four unique handmade birdhouses, featuring Harbor’s Edge resident woodworker, Linda Parks’ original designs, were then artistically painted by residents in various stages of care at Harbor’s Edge and offered for auction.

Each birdhouse was accompanied by a “nest” handmade by Kindra which included a story of the artist-resident who painted the house. The youngest painter was 96 and the eldest was 103. This rewarding collaboration inspired us all to learn something new and make something beautiful. Harbor’s Edge residents proudly attended the reception and all four birdhouses were auctioned off!
