Describe what the company you work for does and what your position entails:
PRA Group is a global, publicly traded company leading the industry in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans. Essentially, we purchase debt, returning value to banks and other creditors so they can continue lending to consumers. Then, our subsidiaries work with customers directly to develop affordable, flexible repayment plans. Whether partnering with our customers, creditors, employees, or the communities where we work and live, we are dedicated to making an impact by doing things the right way, for the right reasons, with a long-term focus.
In my role, I oversee the company’s philanthropic giving, to include nonprofit partnerships and employee volunteerism, as well as internal corporate events.

Why did you/your company decide to provide sponsorship to trail?
PRA Group is committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work, which have enabled us to thrive throughout the years. In our 26 years in Hampton Roads, we have witnessed the Elizabeth River Trail revitalize the area with kayak launches, solar lighting, playgrounds, improved wayfinding, and more. Part of our long-term focus entails recognizing the importance of these investments on the health of local citizens and the sustainability of our community. We are proud to have the opportunity to partner with an organization having such a transformative impact on the environment and wellness of Hampton Roads.
Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what benefits do you feel the trail has for the business community?
The trail promotes wellness among the entire community, leading to a healthier workforce. It also makes the area feel more connected, uniting businesses not only for a cause, but physically along a trail. The trail’s presence cultivates walk-by business in addition to creating positive associations for those businesses with concepts such as sustainability, health, and activity.
